China (Shenzhen) Innovation &
Entrepreneurship International Competition

The Shenzhen Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition International Event (hereinafter referred to as the International Event) aims to integrate innovation and entrepreneurship resources, assist overseas innovation and entrepreneurship projects in connecting with China's high-tech industrial resources, explore the Chinese market, and achieve mutual benefit and win-win results.                   

This competition is open to all overseas innovation and entrepreneurship projects, with no restrictions on nationality for participants. The competition has set up generous prizes, with a total prize pool of 9.42 million RMB. A single participant can win up to 750,000 RMB in competition prizes (excluding venture capital funds). Meanwhile, projects that are successfully implemented in Shenzhen and meet the requirements will be eligible for a maximum of 1 million RMB in entrepreneurship subsidies. Over 50 venture capital institutions have participated in this competition, forming a total venture capital fund pool of 5 billion RMB to make combined investments in outstanding competition projects. All participating projects can obtain investment opportunities from social capital through the competition's investment matching service platform.                  

This year's competition will create a full-process and all-round overseas talent recruitment and introduction service system, covering all aspects such as project collection, overseas guidance, offshore pre-incubation, online matching, on-site visits to Shenzhen, local industry connection, mentor and expert connection, venture capital connection, policy support connection, and industrial park connection, providing full-process tracking and landing services for the contestants.             

In addition, this competition also offers a series of policy supports, including on-the-ground policy support, entrepreneurship competition funding plans, venture capital financing plans, science and technology financial policy support, investment and financial services for the competition, entrepreneurship spaces, and entrepreneurship services.

Applications & Requirements

To participate, the following conditions must be met:
Overseas high-level entrepreneurial teams or individuals with innovative achievements and entrepreneurial plans.
Currently based overseas, intending to engage in innovation and entrepreneurship in Shenzhen or collaborate with Shenzhen's related industries, and have not registered a commercial entity in Shenzhen or served as a legal representative or shareholder.
The products, technologies, or related patents of the participating projects belong to the participants, and there are no property disputes with others. Any liability arising from infringement shall be borne by the participants
Participants and projects who have won awards in the first China Shenzhen Overseas Innovation Talent Competition and previous China Shenzhen Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competitions (including domestic and international competitions) cannot participate in this competition again.

Entry Requirements

At least one person in the team must meet one of the following conditions
Upon registration, participants must carefully review the guidelines for industry classification and select the industry that most closely aligns with their competition project. Once the registration is successfully completed, the selected industry category cannot be modified.
Participants are required to submit complete and accurate application materials, ensuring the authenticity and correctness of all provided information. Furthermore, the name used in the application must match the name on the participant's passport or official identification document. Failure to submit the required documents or providing inconsistent information may result in disqualification or affect the participant's eligibility to compete and receive awards. During the competition, the individual presenting the project must be a registered team member listed in the official registration system and cannot be substituted by another person.
All information submitted by participants must be truthful and valid. If any changes occur during the competition period, participants must promptly submit a written request for modification to the Secretariat of the Competition Organizing Committee. Changes will only be officially recognized and applied after approval has been granted by the Secretariat. Only then may the updated information be used in subsequent competition stages or when applying for related preferential policies.

Industrial Fields

Participating projects should be innovative or original, align with Shenzhen’s industrial and technical policies, and demonstrate strong innovation capacity, competitive market advantages, and promising economic and social benefits. They should be capable of generating high-tech achievements in emerging industries, and possess core technologies, comprehensive intellectual property rights, and high added value.
From the perspective of industry, there are seven fields: new-generation electronic information, digit and fashion, highend equipment manufacturing, green and low-carbon, new materials, biological medicine and health, marine economy.
New-Generation Electronic Information
Focusing on networks and communications, semiconductors and integrated circuits, UHD video display, smart terminals, intelligent sensors, optical information transmission, quantum information, cloud services, cybersecurity, etc.
Digit and Fashion
Focusing on software and information services, artificial intelligence, digital creativity, modern fashion, digital advertising, streaming video, video games, etc.
High-End Equipment Manufacturing
Focusing on high-end equipment and instruments, low-altitude economy and aerospace, robotics, modular construction, future aviation transportation, etc.
Green and Low-Carbon
Focusing on new energy, safety, energy conservation and environmental protection, energy storage batteries, intelligent connected vehicles, new energy vehicles, shared autonomous vehicles, etc.
New Materials
Focusing on high-performance materials, advanced emerging materials, etc.
Biological Medicine and Health
Focusing on biomedicine, high-end medical devices, the great health, synthetic biology, cell and gene technology, brain science and brain-machine interfaces, industrial and consumer biotechnology, etc.
Marine Economy
Focusing on marine, deep-sea and deep-earth exploration sectors, etc.
